Get the Best Care for your Child

Today, couples are left with several options when it comes to choosing the best mode of child care that would perfectly suit their needs.

Some may think of leaving their child to relatives, or to a nearby day care, while others still prefer to hire a live-in nanny to take care of their needs.

Others may think that it is more expensive if they would opt for a babysitting job, but when one would think of the advantages coupled by having a nanny in the house, they would probably realize that the expenses are just complemented with the comforts of hiring a nanny.

Couples would definitely save on time and gasoline allowances and avoids the hassles of bringing the child to some places to and from the house before and after working hours. This could really be stressful for the parent and for the child as well. With a live-in nanny, the child wouldn’t have to adjust with being in another place and you will not have the problem of bothering another person to care for your child.

With this kind of set-up one would be able to leave home and proceed to work knowing that the child is in the comfort of your own home. By the time you get home, you’ll have plenty of time to bond with the child and make up for the lost times.

It should be remembered, that before one worry about the expenses related to the babysitting job, one should think first of the advantages that they would be getting once they finally decide to hire one. Because before you know it, you could be spending more than you ever imagined.

Make your Nanny Happy

Posting a babysitting job is quite easy especially now that there are nanny services available on line. Getting the right person for the nanny job is another thing; one has to go through the process of knowing the candidate and assessing if the person would be compatible with your child, after that the nanny has to be trained to make sure that she would surely get the job done.

The work of an employer doesn’t stop there. Now that the nanny is already settled in your house the problem would be is how to make the nanny love the job?

You could have the best nanny and she could do the best work to take your place, but there are times that nannies encounter problems that would make them want to quit the job.

To give you an idea here is a list of the most common problems that nannies often encounter:

Some employers don’t recognize the nanny’s authority over their child. Some nannies don’t get the support from their employers. When a child commits a mistake the parents would do no action about it.

Getting a bad pay, when a nanny complains about this, it could mean that she feels that she is getting overworked but undervalued.

The working hours are too long and the work is too heavy. It could mean that the employer is taking a lot of responsibility to the nanny, and there is no time for rest.

The employer doesn’t give enough benefits. If a nanny is working hard, it would only be normal for her to expect perks on the job or else she might think that doing her best is not worth it.

Knowing the needs of a nanny as an employee and as a person could be the key to a smooth flowing relationship. Sometimes the simplest gesture of saying ‘thank you’ is enough to make one feel that she is appreciated.

Train your Nanny to Become the Person you need

Now hat you finally found the best person to fit with the nanny job. The next thing to deal with is getting the babysitting job done.

Now that you have let a stranger into your house, make sure that the person would be able to perform according to your needs. After all, it is the reason why you hired her for the job.

Training a person to be the best nanny for your child could be summed up as making her perform your role as a mother in a temporary period of time. With this concept it would be best that you train and observe the nanny first before letting her do the tasks on her own.

Teach the nanny how to change the diaper and the right cream to use. This is very basic but a little supervision is okay to make sure that she would do it your way.

Show the baby the proper way to clean the bottles and getting it sterilized. The right formulation for the baby’s milk should as well be emphasized.

Show the nanny the most preferred way of making the baby sleep. Give her a specific time when the baby should be resting.

Establish a routine regarding the baby’s time for sleep, feeding time, and play time. Emphasize to her that getting the house chores done is good as long as the baby’s comfort is still the priority.

It is a very important task of mothers that their child is very well taken care of while they are away for work. It should also be remembered to give ample time for the nanny and the baby to bond before finally deciding to leave them on their own.

Getting the best nanny is not an assurance, but getting a person who would be obedient to all your rules is definitely a blessing that one should be thankful of.

Know your Rights in Nanny Jobs

Before one gets into the responsibilities of a babysitting job, it is only certain that one should also have the knowledge on one’s right when one is hired as a nanny.

This is a very essential thing to ask in a nanny agency. Babysitting is not just about the money one would earn, it is not just about being able to do what is expected of you. More important than those things, it would be really smart if a nanny knows her right as a babysitter.

To give one the idea, here are some of the privileges of becoming a nanny:

· A four week period is allotted for the nanny to adjust with the environment.

· The employer must comply with the minimum wage required in a particular place. The experience of a person also has an effect on the salary that a person would be receiving.

· A nanny has the privilege to enjoy a four weeks holiday or leave every year.

· If a nanny has been working for an employer for a certain period of time, the nanny already has the right to a maternity leave with pay.

· When a nanny becomes sick for a minimum of four days, the nanny would be entitled to a sick leave with pay to be provided by the employer.

Inquiring about important things gives one the edge. Knowing your rights as a babysitter is important to avoid getting abused. Make it a standard to ask the nanny agency about your privileges. Don’t let yourself into a job without the correct knowledge about one’s scope of responsibilities as well as the privileges of becoming a nanny.

How to Identify a Bad Nanny

Leaving a child to a total stranger is definitely a hard thing to do. Let’s face it not everyone can afford to install surveillance cameras in their homes, so the way to really catch a bad nanny depends in your own techniques.

Sometimes it’s alright not to trust someone especially when there are tell –tale signs that give one the reason to doubt.

To give the parents a peace of mind, here are some of the ‘clues’ to watch out for if one has hired the wrong nanny.

· The baby refuses to be left with the nanny. The bond between the baby and the nanny would take long to establish, but if the baby’s aloofness become too noticeable; maybe its time to straighten up some things.

· The nanny can’t seem to tell the activities that they had for the day. It could mean that some things are being kept secret from you.

· The baby has been getting into all sorts of accidents lately. The nanny job is supposed to focus on the children, if the nanny has other things in mind your child could really be into different troubles.

· The babysitter doesn’t accept criticisms from you. Your nanny is supposed to act as a co-worker so it is best if one is willing to change for the best.

· The babysitter doesn’t come on time. A person’s dedication in her babysitting job can be seen through her punctuality.

· Your baby is always dirty and unkempt. It could only show that your nanny can’t do her job well.

Getting a nanny isn’t an easy task; getting a bad nanny is definitely even worst. Be aware if you happen to get the wrong one, never let your child be in the hands of the wrong person.

Why Nanny jobs are In-demand abroad?

Do you know the reason why most people want to go abroad and work? Well basically, there’s a greater chance for them to find a well-compensated job that they need. One in-demand job abroad that offers lucrative remuneration for all is a “babysitting job”. You can find a lot of "Nanny Needed" or "Nanny Wanted" job openings from various websites online.

Why apply? An entry-level stay-in nanny has a minimum of $400 gross per week for a high school graduate (18-20 yrs. old) with no previous experience. Remember the minimum wage rules apply. Live-in wages can range to $1000 a week gross and sometimes higher for college graduates and the professional nannies.

Recognizing the key role geography plays in live-out wages, a nanny will command $9-$12/hr. in less costly areas, upwards to $18-20/hour in major metro markets. Hours over 40 in a week are compensated at the overtime premium for live-out nannies, calculated as 1.5 times the regular hourly rate. Experienced caregivers for infants and for more than two children generally command a premium. If you are a nanny employed on a full time basis, expect to be paid on contracted weekly salary for 52 weeks a year, even if the family does not require her to work for them during vacations, holidays and other occasions.

Common compensation packages you can receive includes:

1. Paid time off (PTO) (usually 2 - 3 weeks, some portion at family's scheduling discretion) PTO may be used for sick, personal and/or vacation days.
2. Health insurance (normally 50% paid by family for first year, often fully paid after first year)
3. Gym membership
4. Cell phones
5. Annual 'allowance' for child development courses, CPR and First Aide certifications and professional conference fees.

Nanny Jobs are not the only available on most in-demand job in abroad; others like adult caregiver and registered nurse are also in demand during these days. Perhaps this is the reason why many people find working abroad a great opportunity to easily earn money.
