Know your Rights in Nanny Jobs


Before one gets into the responsibilities of a babysitting job, it is only certain that one should also have the knowledge on one’s right when one is hired as a nanny.

This is a very essential thing to ask in a nanny agency. Babysitting is not just about the money one would earn, it is not just about being able to do what is expected of you. More important than those things, it would be really smart if a nanny knows her right as a babysitter.

To give one the idea, here are some of the privileges of becoming a nanny:

· A four week period is allotted for the nanny to adjust with the environment.

· The employer must comply with the minimum wage required in a particular place. The experience of a person also has an effect on the salary that a person would be receiving.

· A nanny has the privilege to enjoy a four weeks holiday or leave every year.

· If a nanny has been working for an employer for a certain period of time, the nanny already has the right to a maternity leave with pay.

· When a nanny becomes sick for a minimum of four days, the nanny would be entitled to a sick leave with pay to be provided by the employer.

Inquiring about important things gives one the edge. Knowing your rights as a babysitter is important to avoid getting abused. Make it a standard to ask the nanny agency about your privileges. Don’t let yourself into a job without the correct knowledge about one’s scope of responsibilities as well as the privileges of becoming a nanny.
