How Can a Nanny Deal with Bad kids

Oftentimes, a nanny is left with no choice but to deal with bad kids in order to keep the job. Sometimes, because of financial matters babysitting jobs becomes a ground for abuse.

There are ways to protect one from getting abused by the ‘smaller boss’, it is still a nanny job to would the child’s character, so might as well do it the right way.

· Show the child that you are the person in charge when the parents are not around.

· Make rules: if they obey they would be rewarded; likewise if they disobey they will be punished.

· Show them that you are tough; don’t easily give in to their wishes, it could show weakness.

· Get them into different sort of activities, make time for silent moments like reading and taking a nap.

· Don’t let them hit you. If you would allow it once, it would most likely happen again.

· Be strict with the time. When time for play is up. Then they should stop playing. Do not bend your own rules.

· Show them that when the parents are in you get to report all the things that the child has done for the day. Make him hear what the parents would say.

Sometimes, it is best to show the kids that with your babysitting job, you really mean business. Show them that you are one tough nanny who doesn’t easily give up. Make them respect you and everything else would turn out right.
